Recap: OHRG v. North Star
Northern Lights found a way to gel midway through the first half. By using its pack size to its advantage and continually knocking Gang Green jammers to the floor, Ohio was shut out every other jam through halftime including the last two jams. It was these two jams that gave Northern Lights a 20-point swing and the halftime lead, 44-38.
The momentum stayed on the side of Northern Lights into the second half scoring seven points to Gang Green’s zero in the first two jams. Rookie skater Val-n-Tina Sauci did her best to keep Gang Green in the game skating to a 10-0 jam and bringing OHRG back within three points.
But that is as close as they would get scoring only four points in the next seven jams coupled with ill-timed penalties proved too much to come back from.
HellionBOI and Sauci lead Gang Green in scoring with 22 and 21, respectively, followed by rookie skaters Loraine Acid with 10 points and Nailher with eight points. reVulva proved to be a good match up in the pack contributing 26 defensive blocks with 11 hits on opposing jammers knocking them to the floor five times.
Gang Green is 0-2 this season. They next play the Dixie Derby Girls April 25 in Columbus. Tickets are now available
